Dear Second Grade Parents and Students,
Welcome to a new school year! I am Becky Woolums, and I am very excited to be your child’s second grade teacher! Second grade is an exciting time in a child’s life and there is a tremendous amount of learning and accomplishments that takes place over the course of the year. My goal as your child’s teacher is to foster a love of learning while valuing individuality and striving to meet the needs of each student! Your input and support are very important and I value the partnership we share in your child’s education. I am very excited to meet you and your child!
On a personal note, I am a Colorado native and my husband, Dale and I have lived in Douglas County for over twenty-five years. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, our Great Pyrenees Gus, reading, and cooking. Both of our children are graduates of Douglas County Schools. Our son Britton will soon be starting graduate school and our daughter Hannah is in her final year at Colorado State University.
I am happy to welcome my 33rd group of students to a new school year! I started my teaching career as a learning specialist in Rawlins, Wyoming. I returned to the Denver area and married my husband of 34 years and continued my teaching career in Douglas County as a learning specialist, kindergarten, first, and second grade teacher. I received my teaching degree from the University of Northern Colorado and my masters in special education from Denver University.
I am looking forward to “Meet Your Teacher” on August 5th! This is an opportunity for you and your child to meet me, become acquainted with our classroom, and drop off school supplies. Please mark your calendar for the following important dates:
